§ Mr. Charles WardleDetailed guidance on liaison arrangements between the police, social services departments, and other agencies concerned with child protection is contained in "Working Together: A guide to arrangements for inter-agency co-operation for the protection of children from abuse" which was published by the Government in October 1991. Copies were distributed to all police forces. This document emphasises the importance of sharing information between agencies and the requirements of confidentiality. The detailed arrangements are a matter for local operational decision.
