HC Deb 11 January 1994 vol 235 c70W
Sir Thomas Arnold

To ask the Secretary of State for National Heritage what information he has about the cost of the Hoffman inquiry into the funding of London's orchestras.

Mr. Brooke

The Hoffman inquiry was commissioned by the Arts Council as part of its review of its support for the London orchestras. I understand that the Council's direct costs in connection with the inquiry were in the region of £5,000, arising mainly from the travel and subsistence costs of the members of the Hoffman committee. I have no details of costs incurred by other parties involved in the review.
