§ Sir Hector MonroThe condition of the north and south piers at the Wick river basin is a matter for Wick harbour trust. I understand that the trust's consultants appraised the piers in question and that their report is being considered by the trust.
§ Mr. MaclennanTo ask the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will take steps to assist Wick harbour trust to protect riparian property owners on the Wick river from structural damage due to the threatened collapse of two piers; and if he will make a statement.
§ Sir Hector MonroAny remedial work to prevent the collapse of the piers is a matter for Wick harbour trust. Central Government assistance for the harbour at Wick is confined to the fishery interest. Protection of property is the owner's responsibility.
