HL Deb 14 February 1994 vol 552 c1WA
Lord Bonham-Carter

asked Her Majesty's Government:

How many spouses of Members of both Houses of Parliament have been appointed to public positions by the Secretary of State for Transport, and what are their salaries.

The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Department of Transport (Lord Mackay of Ardbrecknish)

Detailed information on persons who have been appointed to such positions is not held in the Department of Transport and could be obtained only at disproportionate cost. However, from such limited information as is available on present appointees, there is no evidence that any individual is the spouse of a Member of either House.
