HL Deb 14 February 1994 vol 552 c7WA
Lord Brougham and Vaux

asked Her Majesty's Government:

What is their decision on the Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty designation order submitted to them by the Countryside Commission.

The Earl of Arran

My right honourable friend the Secretary of State for the Environment has today confirmed the order which will designate Nidderdale as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The designation covers an area of 603 square kilometres in North Yorkshire. Nidderdale is important for its natural beauty and unspoilt rural character, which the designation will help to secure.
