§ Mr. Lester
To ask the Secretary of State for Transport what will be the cash ceiling for public service obligation grant to British Rail for 1993–94; and if he will make a statement.

§ Mr. Freeman
The original cash ceiling of £850 million has been increased to £930 million in the light of revised forecasts. British Rail's external financing limit for 1993–94 is not affected.
