§ 30. Sir Thomas Arnold
To ask the President of the Board of Trade what further assessment he has made of Britain's international competitiveness; and if he will make a statement.

The Government have announced that they will publish a White Paper on competitiveness later this year.

§ 1991. Mr. Bill Michie
To ask the President of the Board of Trade how many directors have been disqualified during the years(a) 1980, (b) 1985 and (c)

§ Mr. Neil Hamilton
The number of directors disqualified in 1980 was 62; in 1985 it was 120; and in the financial years 1990–91 and 1991–92 was 420 and 460 respectively.

§ 32. Mr. Pickthall
To ask the President of the Board of Trade what was the cost of fixtures and fittings in his Department's new offices.

§ Mr. Eggar
In the last and current financial years my Department has not moved into any new offices in central London.

§ 35. Mr. Roy Hughes
To ask the President of the Board of Trade if he has had any recent discussions with representatives of the motor industry concerning future exports.

§ Mr. Sainsbury
My right hon. Friend the President of the Board of Trade has not discussed this subject with industry representatives recently, but my hon. Friend the Minister for Trade met representatives from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders on 1 February to discuss, among other matters, issues relating to the export of automotive products.

§ 36. Mr. Gapes
To ask the President of the Board of Trade when he next plans to visit Ilford to discuss the economic situation.

§ Mr. Sainsbury
My right hon. Friend the President of the Board of Trade has no current plans to do so.
