HL Deb 09 February 1994 vol 551 cc127-8WA
Baroness Jeger

asked Her Majesty's Government:

How many fund-holding general practices there presently are: and in how many cases family health services authorities have found that fundholders are not complying with the Fund-holding Practices Regulations (1993).

The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Department of Health (Baroness Cumberlege)

There are currently 1,235 practices in the fundholding scheme. Regional health authorities are responsible for ensuring that general practitioner fundholders comply with the National Health Service (Fundholding Practices) Regulations 1993. Local information at family health services authority level is not available centrally.
