§ Mr. KynochTo ask the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will make a statement about continued collection of betterment levy imposed by the Land Commission Act 1967.
§ Sir Hector MonroIt is no longer cost effective to continue pursuing collection of the betterment levy. In the 1992–93 financial year, five amounts of the levy and interest totalling £39,125.56 were written off. There remain five cases outstanding in Scotland totaling £7,880.59 and I have decided that these should be written off also.
