Dr. Godman

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will list job losses in each year since 1975 in the parliamentary constituency of Greenock and Port Glasgow; and what was the level of youth unemployment in the same year.

Mr. Stewart

[holding answer 2 February 1994]: Information in the form requested is not available. No data are available for parliamentary constituencies on redundancies.

With regard to youth unemployment, data by age are only available quarterly from October 1983. The information is available on the NOMIS database in the House of Commons Library. Library staff are ready to assist in accessing the information.
