To ask the Secretary of State for Health what policy she has for targeting care towards insulin-dependent diabetics who are lone parents.

The Department has no plans to adopt such a policy.

To ask the Secretary of State for Health what is the(a) total budget for diabetic care and (b) the budget for education work among diabetics.

Figures for the total budget for diabetic care are not available nor are figures for the budget for education work among diabetics.

To ask the Secretary of State for Health what is her estimate of the numbers of insulin-dependent diabetics in the United Kingdom; and how many of them live alone.

The number of insulin-dependent diabetics in the United Kingdom is not recorded; neither is it recorded how many live alone.

§ Mr. Pickthall
To ask the Secretary of State for Health what measures she plans to encourage diabetics to be open about their condition to ensure community support.

The Department has no plans to seek to influence personal decisions of this nature.
