To ask the Secretary of State for Health how many consultants have sought early retirement in each of the last five years in each region.

§ Dr. Mawhinney
Data collected do not distinguish between consultants and associate specialists and it is not maintained in regional form.
The total numbers of consultants and associate specialists who retired early under provisions to allow for replacement of senior consultant posts are:
