HL Deb 29 April 1994 vol 554 c55WA
Lord Kennet

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether a political decision was taken not to discuss the NATO air strikes in Bosnia on 10 and 11 April with Russia before they took place, and if so whether they participated in that decision.

Baroness Chalker of Wallasey

NATO's provision of close air support to UNPROFOR on 10/11 April was requested by commanders on the ground and authorised by the United Nations Secretary-General's Special Representative under the powers delegated to them by the UN and NATO. No further political decision or discussion was taken or needed.
