War Disablement Pension

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security how many appeals are waiting to be heard for war disablement pension; and in how many such cases the appeal was lodged before 1 May 1993.

Letter from Peter Mathison to Mr. Jim Cousins, dated 22 April 1994: The Secretary of State for Social Security has asked me to reply to your recent Parliamentary Question about the number of War Pensions appeals awaiting hearing. On 20 April 1994 there was 4,474 appeals waiting to be heard for War Disablement Pension. Of these 4,343 were lodged with the War Pensions Agency before 1 May 1993. I hope you find my reply helpful.
