§ Mr. Charles WardleExtra resources made available for the civilianisation of non-operational posts currently filled by police officers will enable 400 officers to be released for operational duties in 1994–95. In addition my right hon. and learned Friend the Home Secretary has approved the Commissioner's plan to restructure the Metropolitan police and this is expected to release more resources for operational tasks.
