§ Mr. StewartSeventeen NHS trusts are currently operational in Scotland. Most of these have been in existence for only six months but evidence is already emerging to confirm the experience of Aberdeen Royal hospitals and South Ayrshire trusts who in their first year treated more patients then ever before, improved facilities, and provided services more suited to patient needs.
