To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will publish the Government's response to the main conclusions and recommendations contained in the Scottish Affairs Committee's first report of 1992–93, on the future of Scotland's transport links with Europe.

My right hon. Friend has today published "The Future of Scotland's Transport Links with Europe: Government Response" (Cm 2335). The Government have welcomed the consideration given by the Committee to this important subject. The Government's response reflects the very careful attention which has been paid to the Committee's recommendations. We have assured the Committee that its views will be taken fully into account by the Government in addressing future transport priorities.
