HC Deb 27 October 1993 vol 230 c696W
Ms Primarolo

To ask the Secretary of State for Health what plans she has to review the costs of the NHS management executive headquarters in Leeds.

Dr. Mawhinney

My right hon. Friend the Secretary of State's statement on 21 October about the management of the health service in England, explained the intention to streamline the central management of the national health service, including the headquarters of the NHS management executive in Leeds. The functions carried out by the NHS management executive headquarters will be reviewed and management cost targets set in the light of this process. Further information about the proposed changes is provided in a background document "Managing the new NHS", copies of which are available in the Library.
