To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what proposals he has received or plans to make concerning de-designation of any area currently within the statutory curtilage of the London Docklands development corporation.

Mr. Baldry

Detailed discussions have been taking place between the London Docklands development corporation and the London boroughs of Newham, Tower Hamlets and Southwark about the progressive withdrawal of the LDDC from parts of the urban development area. The Department has been kept in touch with the progress of these discussions.
