Mr. Milburn

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what were (i) the average waiting times and (ii) the year end waiting list for(a) in-patient and (b) out-patient treatment in ophthalmology for each health board and for Scotland in each year since 1985.

The information is set out in the tables. The mean waiting times information relates to those admitted from both in-patient and day case waiting lists.

The out-patient waiting times figures shown relate to the nine-month period ending Rine 1993, the first period for which out-patient waiting times information has been collected.
