Baroness Jeger

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether it is their intention to continue to honour section 39 (2A) of the Forestry Act 1967 (inserted by Section 1 of the Forestry Act 1981), which exempted the Forest of Dean from disposal, except in specified circumstances; and whether the Forestry Review team will be required to have regard to this legislation.

The Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (Earl Howe)

Her Majesty's Government comply with the requirements of all legislation passed by Parliament and with any changes which Parliament makes. The Forestry Review Group will take account of existing legislation in the course of its work.
