Lord Bruce of Doningtonasked Her Majesty's Government:
Whether, at the next meeting of the European Council, they will bring forward proposals to open to the public meetings at (a) the Council of Ministers and (b) Committees of the European Parliament.
§ Baroness Chalker of WallaseyThe Council of Ministers already holds a number of debates in public, in accordance with a decision by the Edinburgh European Council last December. We see no need to propose any different arrangements. Open sessions of committees of the European Parliament are a matter for the Parliament itself to decide.
