§ Mr. Charles WardleThe actions I required to be taken following the investigation last year were set out in the reply given to a question from my right hon. Friend the Member for Westminster, North (Sir J. Wheeler) on 2 December 1992 at columns215-16. The further action which I took to monitor progress in implementing my requirements, was described in reply to a question from my hon. Friend the Member for Brighton, Kemptown (Mr. Bowden) on 1 April 1993 at column 383-84. Since then, I have continued to receive regular reports from the Animals (Scientific Procedures) inspectorate, and these show that satisfactory progress is being made in accordance with my instructions.
