asked Her Majesty's Government:

What, in the year ending April 1993, was the average waiting time from referral letter from a general practitioner to first out-patient appointment at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre, Oxford for—

  1. (a) patients of fund holding practices; and
  2. (b) patients of non-fund holding practices; and

What, in the year ending April 1993, was the average waiting time at relevant hospitals in Oxford from being put on the waiting list for each of the following: total hip replacement, cataract removal, coronary artery bypass grafting and surgery in general for—

  1. (a) patients of fund holding practices; and
  2. (b) patients of non-fund holding practices.
