HC Deb 25 November 1993 vol 233 c189W
Mr. Simon Hughes

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what measures he is undertaking to prevent damage to flora and fauna from acid rain.

Mr. Yeo

The Government have in place a range of measures to control and progressively reduce emissions of sulphur dioxide and oxides of nitrogen, the two main precursors of acid rain. These measures were set out in the 1990 Environment White Paper, "This Common Inheritance", and subsequent annual reports. Copies are available in the Library of the House.
