To ask the Secretary of State for Education what representations he has received regarding changes in VAT with regard to schools.

Taxation policy is a matter for my right hon. and learned Friend the Chancellor of the Exchequer. The Department has, however, received several letters about the implications of extending VAT to areas not currently taxed.
