Mr. Harry Greenway

To ask the Secretary of State for Health what was the number of(a) medical, (b) nursing and (c) administrative and other staff at Ealing hospital for the current year and for each of the past 10 years; how many in-patients and out-patients they tended in each of these years; and if she will make a statement.

1992–93 provisional returns for Ealing hospital national health service trust show 18,226 people treated as in-patients, 5,560 treated as day cases and 117,126 people seen as out-patients. Information for earlier years is not available centrally.

To ask the Secretary of State for Health what is the total of public funding for the Ealing hospital NHS trust for the current year; what was the equivalent figure in each of the preceding 10 years, in real terms including those when Ealing hospital did not have a trust status; and if she will make a statement.

Ealing hospital national health service trust came into operation on 1 April 1992. Accounts showing sources of income for the first year of operation will be available towards the end of November. Information for earlier years is not available centrally.
