HC Deb 01 November 1993 vol 231 c7W
Sir Cranley Onslow

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what discussions he has had with British Coal and the National Rivers Authority about pollution from abandoned coal mines.

Mr. Yeo

[holding answer 29 October 1993]: There have been discussions and exchanges of information between my officials and those of the NRA, and between the chairman of the NRA and myself. It is for British Coal in consultation with the NRA to assess any environmental effects of pollution from abandoned mines.
