Whether they will upgrade the inquiry set up in the light of the conviction of Beverley Allitt to the status of a full public inquiry.
§ Baroness CumberlegeMy right honourable friend the Secretary of State for Health recently announced an independent investigation, led by Sir Cecil Clothier QC, into the Allitt case. This will rigorously, swiftly and effectively answer all the questions which parents and others want answered, and will enable us to learn lessons from this terrible tragedy. The investigation will have the necessary powers to fulfil this remit.
