To ask the Secretary of State for Wales what effect he expects the Hamilton Oil and Connah's Quay power station projects will have on the north Wales economy; and if he will make a statement.

I understand that the Hamilton Point of Ayr terminal and PowerGen's Connah's Quay power station projects together represent an investment of some £.1.8 billion. Up to 2,400 jobs will be created during construction, with around 110 permanent jobs at the two sites thereafter.
