§ Mr. HarveyTo ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what assessment he has made of the effect of the withdrawal of central funding on those voluntary organisations from which his Department has withdrawn such funding.
§ Mr. Jack[holding answer 29 April 1993]: The considerations taken into account when a voluntary organisation applies for continued funding include: the needs of the organisation; its ability to attract funds from other sources; the basis on which existing funding was provided; and the extent to which its work contributes to the Department's strategic objectives and priorities and gives value for money.
§ Mr. MichaelTo ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department (1) what is(a) the amount of Home Office grant aid received by each voluntary organisation in (i) 1991–92, (ii) 1992–93 and (iii) the amount offered to each in the current financial year and (b) the total amount of Home Office funding for voluntary organisations in each of these years;
(2) if he will list the voluntary organisations to which his Department has agreed to give grant aid in the current financial year;
(3) if he will list the voluntary organisations to which his Department has given grant aid in (a) 1991–92 and (b) 1992–93.
§ Mr. Jack[holding answer 17–18 May 1993]: The information requested in respect of 1991–92 has been placed in the Libraries of the House. Information for 1992–93 and the current financial year is not yet available centrally and could be obtained only ad hoc and at disproportionate cost.
