The Home Secretary has asked me to reply to your recent Question about the budgeted annual cost per prisoner place at 69W Her Majesty's Prison Blakenhurst. The annual budgeted cost per prisoner per place in the 1993–94 financial year is £16,000. This gives a weekly budgeted cost per place of £310 (excluding VAT).
