HC Deb 12 May 1993 vol 224 cc470-1W
Mrs. Wise

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will ensure that people coming from overseas to do domestic service work in Britain are given the right to change employers and other rights enjoyed by similar workers recruited in the United Kingdom.

Mr. Charles Wardle

Each case involving a domestic worker who wishes to remain in the United Kingdom after having left his or her employer is carefully considered before any enforcement action is taken, and account is taken of any compassionate circumstances. Domestic workers are entitled to the protection of our criminal and employment law.
