To ask the Secretary of State for Education how many of the schools(a) he and (b) the three schools Ministers have visited in the past year are (i) grant maintained, (ii) local authority run and (iii) private.

Of the 117 schools visited by the DFE ministerial team my right hon. Friend has visited three grant-maintained schools, 25 local authority maintained schools, two non-maintained special schools, five independent schools and two city technology colleges.

I, my right hon. and noble Friend the Minister of State and the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, my hon. Friend the Member for Daventry (Mr. Boswell) have between us visited 13 grant-maintained schools, 55 local authority maintained schools, one non-maintained special school, seven independent schools and four city technology colleges.
