HC Deb 04 May 1993 vol 224 c24W
Mr. Richards

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales what measures are being taken to help Welsh local authorities improve the quality and quantity of privately rented accommodation.

Mr. Gwilym Jones

More than £16.5 million has been made available to local authorities in Wales over the last three years to support schemes to improve the quality and quantity of privately rented accommodation. These schemes involve improvements in the condition and management of rented homes, including houses in multiple occupation, and increases in the supply of homes through the conversion of under-utilised accommodation providing flats above shops, for example.
