To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will make a statement on the level of provision for community care for patients with chronic diseases.

Mr. Stewart

The level of provision for community care for patients with chronic diseases will vary for every patient and in all cases will reflect and respond to the needs of the individual. The aim is to secure the most effective package of services that meets the patients' and carers' needs.
