§ Mr. SackvilleThe Government are advised on the risks of exposure to radon in the home by the National Radiological Protection Board, which has recommended action levels for exposure. The board's latest advice was endorsed by the independent advisory Committee on Medical Aspects of Radiation in the Envvironment, and has been accepted by Government. The Department is currently supporting a comprehensive case-control study of the incidence of lung cancer in the areas of the United Kingdom with the highest levels of radon in homes. The situation is being kept under close review.
