HC Deb 29 March 1993 vol 222 cc32-3W
Mr. Blunkett

To ask the Secretary of State for Health if she will list a detailed breakdown of the distribution of the funds for 1993–94 proposed for the improvement of primary care in London in her document, "Making London Better"; and if she will make a statement.

Dr. Mawhinney

£40 million is available for primary care capital and revenue developments in the London initiative zone 1993–94. Local proposals for using these funds have been developed under the guidance of the Thames regions and will be considered by the London implementation group's primary health care forum.

Applications have been invited against the sum of £7.5 million over three years available for voluntary sector developments in the LIZ area. Initial applications are expected by the end of April and will be considered by the Primary Health Care Forum. Further details of the arrangements for the London primary health care challenge fund will be published shortly.
