§ Mr. CurryConsultancy fees totalling £429,037 were paid to KPMG Peat Marwick, Touche Ross and Price Waterhouse between the financial years 1987–88 and 1991–92. A further breakdown of figures cannot be given, as this information is classified commercial in confidence. These consultancy firms were involved in nine areas of work in my core Department. This answer excludes contracts made for IT work and those made by executive agencies. Information on the precise nature of the contracts and their duration is not held centrally and can be provided only at disproportionate cost.
