To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will make a statement on the effect on United Kingdom agriculture policy of progress of the GATT negotiations.

The agreement reached between the EC and the United States on agriculture last November provides the basis for a balanced, multilateral agreement which is consistent with the reforms of the CAP agreed in May 1992.
