HC Deb 25 March 1993 vol 221 c653W
Mr. Menzies Campbell

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will make a further statement about Her Majesty's Government's policy towards enforcement of a no-fly zone over Bosnia.

Mr. Douglas Hogg

We condemn the bombing of the village of Gladovici in eastern Bosnia, which was the first confirmed combat-related violation of the no-fly zone set up in United Nations Security Council resolutions 761 and 776 since 13 October 1992. We fully support the moves in the United Nations towards enforcement of the no-fly zone.

We shall also continue to assess the possible repercussions of enforcement on our ability to protect the humanitarian aid effort. The safety of British troops remains our paramount concern.
