HC Deb 23 March 1993 vol 221 c558W
Dr. Strang

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what arrangements are currently in place for the administration of the milk quota in Scotland.

Sir Hector Monro

[holding answer 22 March 1993]: The Scottish Office Agriculture and Fisheries Department is responsible for the administration of milk quotas in Scotland. Certain functions are currently performed on its behalf by the three milk marketing boards in Scotland and by Kennerty Dairies, in respect of Shetland producers, under the terms of individual agency agreements. The Intervention Board executive agency also performs certain milk quota functions on a United Kingdom basis.
