To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland how many general practitioners in(a) Inverclyde, (b) Strathclyde and (c) Scotland as a whole currently have fund-holding status; how many more have submitted applications for such status; and what is the number in (a), (b) and (c) who have decided not to apply for fund-holding status.

[holding answer 18 March 1993]: Information is provided on the basis of health board areas and only for those practices which have formally expressed interest in applying for fund-holding status and for those practices where health boards are considering formal applications to join the fund-holding scheme. The table sets out the current position.
