To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what volumes of sewage wastes are treated annually by ultra-violet radiation.

Detailed information is not held centrally. The issuing of consents to discharge ultra-violet irradiated sewage effluent is, in England and Wales, a matter for the National Rivers Authority.
