HC Deb 22 March 1993 vol 221 c489W
Mr. Llew Smith

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will make a statement on the current level of pollution in the River Culm in Devon.

Mr. Maclean

I understand from the National Rivers Authority that water quality in the River Culm has improved very significantly in recent years. The great majority of its length was reported in the 1990 river quality survey as class 2, "fair" quality, and the river again supports popular fisheries.
