HC Deb 22 March 1993 vol 221 c462W
Sir Michael Neubert

To ask the Attorney-General what impact the adoption of common standards by police forces for the submission of prosecution files will have on the work of the Crown prosecution service.

The Attorney-General

The adoption of common standards by police forces for the submission of prosecution files should ensure that every file on initial receipt by the Crown prosecution service contains sufficient material on which an informed decision can be made as to whether a prosecution should proceed. Such an improvement should enable the Crown prosecution service to carry out its functions more efficiently and effectively and will reduce delay in the criminal justice system.
