HC Deb 18 March 1993 vol 221 cc324-5W
Mr. Cousins

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will list the import, export and balance of payments in respect of postal and telecommunications services each year from 1982, expressing those payments both in cash and current price terms.

Mr. Nelson

The current price, or cash, value of postal and telecommunications services imports and exports for 1982 to 1991 can be found in table 3.6 of the 1992 edition of the Central Statistical Office's United Kingdom balance of payments publication—the Pink Book. Copies of the Pink Book are available in the Library of the House; alternatively the data can be found on the CSO database which can be accessed through the Library. For 1992, it is estimated that exports of postal and telecommunication services were £905 million and imports were £950 million. These series are not available at constant prices.
