HL Deb 15 March 1993 vol 543 c76WA
Baroness Jeger

asked Her Majesty's Government:

On what population figures they based their statement on the National Health Service in London (H.L. Deb. col. 1008, 16th February) that in London 20 per cent. more per head is spent than elsewhere.

Baroness Cumberlege

The population figures used were the 1990 projections based on updated 1989 figures for London, supplied by the Office of Population, Censuses and Surveys. The estimated resident population of the inner London district health authorities was 2,709,500.
