HC Deb 15 March 1993 vol 221 c109W
Mr. Morley

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will place in the Library a list of all the land which has been sold by the Forestry Commission in 1992 in England, Scotland and Wales in each county, giving the name of the area sold, the area, the grid reference, the amount received on the sale, and to whom it was sold in each case.

Sir Hector Monro

A list giving details, including name, size and location, of the areas of forest land sold by the Forestry Commission in 1992 is held in the Library of the House. The list provides the name of the purchaser and the price paid where the purchaser has agreed that this information can be made public. The list is restricted to forest land because information on the sale of other categories of land, such as agricultural land, houses, gardens and minor boundary adjustments, is not held centrally and could be obtained only at disproportionate cost. Grid references for each area of land sold could also be provided only at disproportionate cost.
