HC Deb 12 March 1993 vol 220 cc737-8W
Mr. Morley

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will list each block of Forestry Commission land that has been sold since 1979, together with its size and location; and what has been the total revenue from these sales.

Sir Hector Monro

[holding answer 10 March 1993]: Lists giving details including size and location of the areas of forest land sold by the Forestry Commission from the start of the disposals programme in July 1981 to December 1992 are held in the Library of the House. Records of individual areas sold before July 1981 are not available. The lists are restricted to forest land because information on the sale of other categories of land, such as agricultural land, houses, gardens and minor boundary adjustments, is not held centrally and could be obtained only at disproportionate cost.

A total of £171.2 million was realised from sales of all types of Forestry Commission land and property between 1 April 1979 and 31 March 1992.
